Lifestyle Craft sent me a complimentary Epic Letterpress and die cut machine to create with and review for your viewing pleasure.
When it arrived, I literally tore open the box and squealed in delight seeing all the pretty things inside (ask my nephew Kaden who just stared at me with a blank look... sheesh, 12 year olds!) Everything came in perfect condition, all nice & tidy and exactly as described. After opening the supplies and laying them all out, I've discovered it's like having my own little scrapbook store at my fingertips :)
Want to see what I made?
Using the cute saying "for you" that comes standard with the Epic combo kit along with the cookie cutter nesting circles and sweet flowers from the twigs & sprigs printing plates letterpress set in hot pink, I created an earring card for my little niece who is being baptized this weekend. Allll week I've been thinking about how to wrap the earrings I made her {you know it's ALL ABOUT display!} and using the Epic made it an absolute snap!
The first thing I did was pick out my cute flower & saying and moved them around a bit, knowing that I was going to poke holes in the flowers for the earrings. I followed the provided directions to stick them on the letterpress tool but because this fun tool is new to me, I needed some more 411... luckily Lifestyle Crafts knew I did and had easy-to-follow video tutorials. Awe-some!
I rolled out the ink, which is pretty thick and goes a LONG way, and added a smidge of navy blue to create a purple-ish color but then decided I wanted to keep it super girlie and went back to straight hot pink. I have to say that cleaning the roller and printing plates was easy peasy with the provided cleaning wipes. {I wish I could use them on my baby! lol I won't, for the record ;)}
I rolled the printing pads through the Epic letterpress tool and immediately loved the result:
Can you see the professional indent from the letterpress? Classy!
I spied the cookie cutter nesting circles and went to work... again, so easy to use that I didn't need the video tute this time ;)
After I had my earring card cut out in a perfectly perfect circle, I glued it to coordinating paper with a gluestick and used my scallop scissors to match the petals from my flower printing plate.

Check out that pretty shimmery detail in the words :)

Goes well together, I think! Oh and I have to mention that the ink was a perfect match on paper and what is advertised on the site/tube. I don't like surprises when crafting so this was refreshing :)
To make the earrings I purchased some flower embellishments at the scrapbook store and simply hot glued earring backs to them.
I then punched them through the middle of my flower print and ta-da: done!
Overall I was very pleased at how easy the Epic letterpress tool was for both pressing & cutting. It takes just a few minutes to get familiar with it and before you know {BAM!} you're thinking of TONS of things to create and drooling at the lifestyle crafts blog ;) Stay tuned next week for something else I have in the works with my toy!
What's that?
Wondering how you can snag your own Epic Die-Cute/Letterpress Tool + assortment of fun accessories, valued at $169?
