Well, our cousin's lil sis just got hitched and wanted her own themed chalkboard to put next to the gifts thanking her guests at her reception.
{Was that the longest run-on sentence ever? Phew!}
Anyway, what the bride wants, the bride gets:
Isn't this so fun?
She loved it + we loved it = success!!
Don't tell cousin Nan...it was under $5 to make!
Read on for the DIY!
Supplies:
cupboard door*
18" of pom-pom fringe {$2/yd @ HL}
3 mini clothespins*
modpodge*
glitter*
chalkboard spray paint*
acrylic paint*
peacock feathers*
vinyl monogram letter*
hot glue & glue gun*
*already had on hand
Directions:
1. Spray inside of cupboard door with chalkboard paint.
2. Paint outsides of cupboard door with acrylic paint.
3. ModPodge tops of clothespins. Cover with glitter.
4. Hot glue pompom fringe across top of cupboard door.
5. Hot glue feathers in place.
6. Rub monogram in place.
Note: Use 3-4 coats of chalkboard paint. Allow 3 days to cure. After 3 days, rub chalk over whole board & erase. Only THEN is the board ready to use.
Some of you are probably thinking, "What? I can't make that under $5!" Well, to buy everything at once would total more... but if you are craft nazi's like us, you probably have everything on hand & can make these babies for a small price with a big impact.
