Best combo ever!
Best combo ever!
Supplies:
- 12x12 MDF Board {Note: Got mine @ HD in a 2'x2' sheet, I cut it down on a table saw. HD can do this for you... $7 for the whole piece, works out to $0.88 when cut down to 12x12" squares.}
- 8" Wood Letter {Got mine @ Joann's on sale for $1.99}
- 12x12 Sheet of Scrapbook Paper {$0.59 @ Joann's}
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint brush
- ModPodge
- Gorilla Glue
- Ribbon {optional}
- Vinyl lettering {also options... free for me since I have a cutter!}
Step #1:
PAINT the outer edges of your square & your wood letter.
Step #2:
ModPodge scrapbook paper onto wood square
Step #3:
Glue wood letter onto wood plaque. Let dry 1 hour. {Putting weight on top is suggested!}
Step #4:
If you're using vinyl, apply after glue dries. {It's a personal preference but I put heavy weight on top of the plaque while it dries so I don't want it to mess up the lettering just in case!}
Distressing is optional as well but I love the look!
Step #5:
Enjoy! :)
This project was so inexpensive that I was able to make 2... good thing because my friend is having TWINS! This matches her nursery perfectly :)
Total cost: $3.46
