Guestie: It's Overflowing {DIY Easter Eggs}

 Happy Wednesday!

We're sure a lot of you recognize these awesome projects...
Upcycled Kitchen Cart • Cinnamon Chip Pumpkin Cupcakes • Anthro knock-off Flower Vase • Spring Tablescape

...they were created by today's guestie and IRL friend, Aimee of It's Overflowing.  We had WAY too much fun meeting and hanging out with her last month and are so happy she's here to show off her cutie felt Easter eggs!

Hi Sweet Lolly Jane Friends, I'm Aimee Lane and I blog at....

One of the first blogs I fell in love with was Lolly Lane!  Kelli and Kristi are super cute and so much fun!  Just a few weeks ago, I got to meet them in Arizona at a crafting girl's night out and they quickly became bloggy besties!!!  After getting lost a million times, my sweet twin friends met us on a corner and we followed them to a local restaurant where we totally lost track of time talking and laughing until the wee hours of the morning!

I'm so excited to get to share my darling little Easter eggs with you!  My three sweet B's helped me put these together and we love our Bunny and Carrot Eggs to pieces!!!

Pin It

We started with some plain white eggs and had a blast dying them all of our favorite Spring colors: yellow, pink, green and orange.  Kelli and Kristi will get a kick out of this, but I have to say, the little dissolvable dye tablets are really hard to distinguish between.  The best way to do dye eggs is fill an equal number of cups of water with the number of tablets and color them all at once.  Don't be to bummed if the color of cups don't match your water.  Maybe it was just me!??!  But regardless, as long as you don't add vinegar to the pink mix, it's all good!

Now, using your imagination {and your sweeties imaginations, too}, grab some felt and have fun making feet and ears and teeth for your bunny egg.  We used thin cuts of paper for the whiskers, the felt was too thick.  For the carrot eggs, accordion fold some green felt and cut out the stem.  I used my hot glue gun to attach the felt to the eggs.  Warning: usually hot glue peels up and is really user friendly.  For this little project, the shell will lift if you peel off the hot glue and try to reattach your felt pieces.

Big B is all about his Carrot Egg!

And Little B absolutely loves her sweet Bunny Egg.
{We used a sharpie for the eyes and a rolled up piece of felt for the nose}.

We LOVE Little touches of Easter throughout the house all month long!

I'm so excited to be guest posting here at Lolly Jane's blog.  I hope you've enjoyed this little Easter tutorial LOTS and feel inspired to add a little fun touch to the Easter eggs you dye with your sweeties!!!  Feel free to stop by for a visit!  At It's Overflowing, I blog about DIY projects, crafts and decorating my home, photography, recipes: both sweets and favorite meals, and a bit about life in general!!!  You're always welcome and who knows, I just might fly out to visit you, too!!!

Seriously, isn't Aimee the CUTEST?!  We told her she could be featured in Parents Magazine with those sweet shots of her darling kiddos.  She is darn talented and we were so happy to have her take over today! :)  Be sure to stop by her FB, Pinterest or Twitter to keep up with this hot shot!
Thanks again, Aimee!
XOXO
