quick wall decor with tin stars

My out of state fam keeps asking for pics of my new house.  I'm finishing one project at a time & my internet is FINALLY working {no thanks to Qwest!} so I can play catch up with my house pics.

The hubs doesn't like busy wall decor.  I do!-I have a knick knack obsession.  We agreed board & batten is a happy medium...dressy walls, little decor up top.  But I had to add something to my boring hallway.  Right??  Who's with me??  ;)

[Before/After]

I also have a star obsession.  My good friend gave me a bunch of tin stars years ago and I was happy to include them in my decor.  (Remember we had a big garage sale last month and cleaned out lots of good decor??-these made the cut back then, luckily ;)  Anyway-the yellow-y stars blended too much with my freshly painted yellow walls and I had leftover turquoise spray paint from this project so why not?-already had everything on hand so it was free & took about 30 mins total.

1.Gather tin stars.  2.Spray paint.  3.Glaze to tone it down.  4.Admire.

Another after shot, coming from the back bedrooms into the entry way, which leads to the dining room. This tut is about a month old...see the white table?  That's the area that was switched to our new command station:

[Side note about the command station: my older sis saw pics on the blog then saw it in my house and was shocked to see how tall it is in real life.  FYI: it's about 4' tall x 5' wide...takes up the WHOLE wall (: ]

Were ya able to keep up?  This is a funky 30+ year old house!  I'll show ya the front door makeover next week so you can see the other angle of the entry way.  And my finished picture wall in the entry way...oh, and a really fun tutorial too!!  Exciting things comin your way ;)
