GrandWill

Our grandpa recently moved in with our parents and consequently, we got to raid his house.
{That sound SO bad, we know!!!  Don't judge!}

Anyway here are a few things we snagged inherited from our very own Grandwill {get it? instead of Goodwill?  oh, that's a long shot?  hmmm... Kristi thought it was clever but I'll tell her otherwise! lol}

Without further adieu:
  • Pic #1: these 2 end tables were a definate score, they're gorgeous as is..the lamps will get spray job & new shades.
  • Pic #2: This hutch has a metal quarterfoil screen...goes to show vintage is makin a comeback!  It'll get a full makeover, whoop! The elephant will be painted turquoise probably, love the others as is.
  • Pic #3: Suitcase will be a fabric holder in Kel's new craft room, lamp will get a fresh shade & a bit of a paint makeover.
This coffee table has some wierd wood inserts, we're hoping a good sanding/caulking will let us refinish the top because the shape of it is so pretty..they just don't make furniture like this anymore!

Believe us, after 2 trips to Washington DC de-junking his home {2 trips to the dump, 3 to the donation center, *filling a ginormous city garbage container to the brim!!* and countless hours actually cleaning & scrubbing} we definitely EARNED it ;)
.   .   .
And while going through hoards of boxes, papers & photos...we found our elementary pictures. Diggin the matching perms..any other 80's babies out there?! Don't tell us we're alone! ;)

Can't resist a PS for this special guy:
Happy 1st birthday to our little photo helper!  Kristi's baby boy is sicker than a dog so his monster bash for tonight is cancelled.  But we'll have a simple dinner this wknd instead...look forward to adorable pics&tips and in the meantime, we love you Kaseface!  xoxo

  1. Lucky girls! Great stuff. Loving that suitcase! And great tables too! I did chuckle a little at your elementary photos! I grew up in the 80s (although I think you girls are still younger) with a perm as well. ;) Gotta love it!

  3. If your Grandwill isn't sad about moving out of his place, he will be happy that you want some of his items to use. You will think of him when you use those things, and that, is a good thing. I just marvel at how what is old comes around again.
