I spent the weekend in Washington state visiting my son's birthfamily and had a great time. We simply adore them :) Anyway I thought a lot about his story and how grateful I am that his sweet birthmom chose the adoption option and how different my life is because of her choice:

I actually blog-stalked Mary and luckily, we became fast real-life friends ;) Our sons are only a few days apart and it's been so fun to see them grow together! Mary is our adoption book group/playdate coordinator and always has great reads for us :) She is also the uber talented photographer who shot the above picture of my little family. Love her! You HAVE TO see their awesome video {HERE.}
Angee has a great laugh! She is also part of our monthly book group/playdate and I love to see her mother her little princess, who is all girl :) Angee has a great sense of humor and keeps me laughing with her funny adventures she posts on Facebook. They are a Disney family and little Grace is lucky enough to go often! View their profile {HERE}
I met Ellen through our callings at church and got to spend a crazy fun weekend with her at girls camp. She was a blast and saved me with her giant stash of cute fabrics! She is all things crafty, which is why we were insta-friends ;) She has been married for 9 years and is definitely ready for motherhood... I know that she will be a wonderful mother! You can see their profile {HERE}

Take a peek at their adoption profiles and please pass their information along to potential birthparents. You can tell them these couples come highly recommended by ME and I will just brag on them all day long.
PS: Do any of our readers have an adoption connection?
Just curious :)
Congrats on your little one turning One.

I do so enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou asked if any of your readers had an adoption connection. I am both adopted and a birthparent. My birthmom found me when I was 26 and we have an evolving relationship. You are welcome to read more, if you wish, about my adoption journey at http://heatherales.blogspot.com/search/label/Adoption.
I'm adopted and will likely never find my birth family. The records are sealed in Florida. My mother (adopted) has since passed away and my father says he doesn't know anything. I do know that it was a private adoption, but that's it. My aunt says there is someone in my family who may know a little, but we're not sure.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your little one!
Yay! Kristi! Happy Birthday to that darling little boy!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad was adopted...and my sister was given up for adoption...long story...my Mom was very young when she got pregnant w/her & she and my dad gave her up and then got married years later. She found us about 6 years ago (Thank God!) and we've had a growing relationship ever since...
Congrats on your little miracle turning one! Our little miracle just turned 19 months and the adoption was JUST finalized on April 11th! THANK YOU LORD! It has been a crazy roller coaster and I have seriously thought about writing a book! People do not believe our story :) After everything that we have been through, I would do it all again for our daughter, but I don't think I have it in me to adopt again?! Good luck to your friends! I would love to find a group to join like you have, it's just nice to know that there are others out there feeling and going through the same thing. Thanks for your inspiration!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I actually know Mary and her husband, I've know them for years. She took our family photo a couple years ago. I love your family photo and your baby is adorable. :)

Yay for adoption! My husband and I adopted a perfect baby girl just over two months ago and having this little princess in our home has made me re-connect with my once crafty self which is how I found your blog. Love how adoption touches so many!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a nephew who was adopted and he is the cutest little boy in the whole world! Weird, he kind of looks like your baby.
ReplyDeleteYes, I too am an adopted child! It warms my heart each time I see an adoption story. I do not know my birth parents, I only know she was 14 and was unable to keep me. I have toyed with the idea of finding her over the years but have some fear over the issue. My sister was also adopted (from another birthparent)and has contacted her bio mom. That did not go very well...I am forever grateful to my 'Mom & Dad' and to others who open their heart to adoption. Really, holding a baby in your arms for the first time, looking at that sweet face, smelling that baby skin...it doesn't really matter...it's pure love!
ReplyDeleteSorry to ramble,
Kim
I'm SUCH an avid supporter of adoption, and I love reading other peoples stories. I had a sibling that placed a baby for adoption, and ever since that time I have just loved anything and everything about it. My hubby and I have 2 children, and we have chosen to try and adopt our third...we've been on the "list" for 2 months today...and we are SO excited to see what the future holds. Unfortunately in Canada you can't do any sort of "advertising" or post your profile online or anything...which is too bad, because I think its a great way to get your name out there!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the first birthday! I am new to your blog, & really enjoy it. I truly know the joy of adoption, both my kiddos (ages 11 & 8) are adopted - from Thailand. We are blessed to have a long distance "open adoption" as we keep in contact with both "belly moms"(as we call them).
