Crush

I was racking my brain for a fun Valentine gift for my girlfriends that didn't cost a whole lot.  One girlfriend gave me Christmas candy in a glass bottle with a cute note that said she had a crush on me... cute idea!  (Love ya, Melis!)
I tweaked mine in pinks & reds and am totally crushin' on how it turned out!
Want to make one for your child to pass out to friends at school or even take yours to the office?
I thought so! :)

Supplies needed:
6-pack of Crush soda pop . Red spray paint . Glue dots or hot glue . Ribbon* . Candy . Label
(*Ribbon: 1.25" x 25"...3 pieces total)

Instructions:
1. Drink soda pop (strawberry flavor... yum) and remove sticky labels
2. Rinse bottles & air dry
3. Spray paint soda caddy & bottle caps to match
4. Once the paint is dry, simply wrap the ribbon around and glue onto caddy
Now the fun part...
5. Fill the bottles with CANDY and lots of it!
Mine has Valentine colored peanut butter M&M's, strawberry Whoppers, cherry gummy hearts (generic brand,) Good&Plenty black licorice, Conversation hearts  & of course, Red Hots.
6. Simply tie off each bottle with the label:
and you're ready to pass out your cute Valentine treat!

  2. This is so cute! It'd even be cute if you just left the pop in the bottles since it's Crush. But I do like the look of the candies in there better...Valentine's Day is my FAVORITE holiday :)

How do the lids go back on the bottles?

  20. Adorable! Quick question- how to you get the bottle caps back on? Do they not fall off?

Is there anything other than I have a crush on you that would be cute to put on there?

  23. the lids WILL go right back on. be patient, as soon as they find their groove again they'll twist back on.

    another saying...

"it takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone"

Not to be picky but I am looking for a more teacher friendly saying...or school friends. I would not want my 7 year old giving out gifts that say I have a crush on you. Although that will be super cute for my husband. Thoughts? Thank you for your time.

  26. Where did you find strawberry Crush bottles? I looked at Cracker Barrel today with no luck. I am hoping to complete this project by Friday :)

  27. Another note: We served the orange Crush bottles as our rehearsal party as the drink to toast with.
Each bottle had a note tied to it saying, "it all started with a crush." It was a hit with family and friends and a great non-alcoholic alternative to the traditional toast.
