2-for-1 {argyle Halloween/Fall wreath}

all those crazy cute wreaths out there & wanted to make one for my swap partner.
{What is a swap partner you ask??  Scroll to the bottom of this post to find out!}
BUT, I wanted it to be a dual-use wreath so it would last until the Christmas season.

So I came up with this easy make:
D-I-Y:
{click pic for larger view}

Supplies:
10" styrofoam wreath form {$1.00-Dollar Tree} .  2 colors of yarn {$2.20-Joann's}  .  2 colors of felt {$0.80/Joann's} .  Wooden H & F {$1.29/each-Joann's}  .  1 eye hook {size 3/16"-on hand}  .  Acrylic paint {on hand}  .  Scrap ribbon {on hand}  .  Vinyl lettering {Optional: sharpie marker to freehand sayings}  .  Hot glue gun

Directions:
- Wrap wreath with cream yarn.
- Freehand diamond pattern, cut 8 of each color from felt, dab hot glue to keep in place.
- Using brown yarn, wrap each diamond so it starts an "X" pattern, switch directions to complete   the pattern after you complete the first direction.
- Paint wooden letters coordinating holiday colors.
- After  it's dry as a bone, apply the lettering.
- Hot glue ribbon to the backside of each letter, making a cute lil knot at the top.
- Add ribbon to embellish!
- Open eye hook with pliers {or us a cup hook} and screw by hand into wreath.
- Hang letter H for Halloween and enjoy!
- Save F for FALL = double season wreath!

Q: What is a swap partner?
A: Kirsti from Kirstikoo started Swaperoos.
Swaperoos is a group of girls from across the nation who send each other package of goodies {not food goodies necessarily but home decor, ingredients, kitchen accessories, jewelry, etc.} a few times a year. ANYONE can join {for the smokin deal of only $5/year, yes you read that correctly, only 5 bucks a YEAR, Y-O-U can join too!}.   I was in the original group which started a year ago with only a handful of girls-we are now up to 20 swappers.
{Check out the current swappers on the left side of the Swaperoo's site.}

Rules to participate:
  • Tell Kirsti 5 things about yourself so she can match you with a partner who gives goodies you will just lve!
  • Your goodies need to equate around $15.  For example, I always include something with vinyl since I have a cutter and maybe a few other small things if I think my project wasn't a huge wow factor.
  • Kirsti will email you about the upcoming swap {usually right before a major holiday/season so we get goodies related to that timeframe} and then you'll get your partner and have about 2 weeks to ship your goods.
  • Easy~peast and it's SO FUN to receive a prize in the mail!
EMAIL: kirstikoo@gmail.com if you're interested in joining our awesome group! :)

  17. Totally cute and totally copying! But I am a houndstooth freak, so I think I will be brave and try to replicate a houndstooth pattern. <3
