Recycled Headband Tutorial

My 5 yr old son's fave t-shirt got a hole in it.
I loved the color so decided to recycle it.  He thought I was weird.
D*I*Y:
Cut out the collar and ends of the sleeves.

Cut a strip about 1 1/2" thick x 12" long to wrap around a plastic headband
{you can get the band at a dollar store}.

Start by hot glueing the fabric to the end of the band, wrap the other side around so it looks nice.

No glueing neccessary for the wrapping, just wrap it around the band.
Finish off the other end with a pretty fold & hot glue as well.

Cut another strip from your shirt, same measurements as the headband.
No need to be exact, this is a simple diy project!

Start with a knot and twist, wrap & glue as you go. {My instructions aren't detailed as my sis showed me how to make these flowers but if you google "how to make fabric rosettes" you'll get a better tut.}
*You can add as many rosettes as you want, I chose 3 diff size ones.*

Hot glue flowers to side of band, add fabric to hide all that glue. ;)

End product:

Use scrap fabric, pearls, buttons, etc to create more fun headbands!

Materials: fabric, hot glue gun, headband.  Time: 5 minutes
